Students enrolled in these classes can earn high school elective credit and also earn college credit at the same time. If your student has not met the ACT score requirements to enroll in any of the classes (Reading must be a 17 or higher), you can make arrangements with NCCC to take the Compass Test (a short test taken on a computer). Their number is 785-242-2067. You could take care of this responsibility this summer.

ACT Test Date: Saturday, June 12, 2010. Regular registration is over on May 7th, but late registration fees can be paid until May 21, 2010. Regular registration costs $32.00 and late registration costs $53.00. SENIORS IN THE CLASS OF 2011 should take either the June test or an early test in the fall (September 11, October 23, or December 11). Students usually score higher the second time the test is taken. Many scholarships and awards, or early enrollment is based on ACT tests before the second semester of the senior year.

FRESHMAN FIRST DAY- is August 18, 2010 this school year. We are very excited to welcome our new freshman class to Baldwin High School, and we look forward to meeting your student on this day. BHS participates in the nationwide Link Crew Program, an organization whose sole purpose is to help freshmen feel more comfortable as well as help them achieve success in their first year of high school.

The Link Crew freshman orientation and transition program is designed to both welcome and support freshmen by assigning them a junior or senior Link Crew Leader as a mentor during this first year. This Link Leader is a responsible older student who was hand selected from a large pool of applicants and has met the qualifications of being a good role model and a positive leader on our campus.

FRESHMEN—Wear comfortable clothes on August 18. We will be moving around quite a bit, sitting on the floor, participating in many activities, etc. We look forward to meeting you and wish you a GREAT first year of high school!

Juniors check out Mrs Hoffsomers website about scholarship opportunities this summer and go to Fast web.
